Chapter 4: The God in the cave pt1

Chapter 4: The God in the cave (pt1)

Late at night, on the old turtle’s wide back.

Jiang Zhu shook the small generator hard; it was not easy to charge.

Jiang Zhu didn’t hold back and said, “Play less games tomorrow.”

His hands were numb before he managed to charge a bar of electricity.

“No!”

It was quiet all around.

Jiang Zhu: "..."

Is the personal of this guy really cold or not?

The old turtle seemed to have climbed a mountain, and in front of it was a towering cliff.

No more road ahead?

When they got closer, he found that there was a huge hole in the cliff, and the old turtle pulled the bronze coffin to stop at the entrance of the cave.

Jiang Zhu and Sheng Xiao did not get close, but in order to avoid being attacked by the undead, the team have been following very tightly. What’s happening?

Jiang Zhu slid down the turtle’s back and walked towards the team: “What’s wrong?”

The line seemed a little chaotic and restless.

Uncle Jiao Jiang, ho was still dry and thin, said: “There are gods in the mountains and rivers. Mountain gods lives in mountain shrines, river gods lives in river shrines.”

Then he looked at the big hole in the cliff: “This is a shrine where the gods live, and those who approach will surely attract the wrath of the gods.”

Jiang Zhu looked back and saw that the man on the old turtle's back had entered the cave step by step.

At this time, the sound of “heh heh” came out of the surrounding darkness.

Undead!

It should be that the team is too far away from the old turtle and these undead felt the breath of the living and surrounded them, and there are still many of them.

Jiang Zhu was afraid of these undead corpses.  As soon as they appeared, his face changed ang he pulled Sheng Xiao to run to the cave.

The others hesitated: “Jiang Zhu is a Fuji master; a Fuji master will not put himself on danger.”

It’s unknown whether he is convincing others or himself.

Jiang Zhu was very interested in the gods often mentioned in the mouth of Uncle Jiao Jiang, and looking at the cave, there was no movement inside so it should be safe.

It was night and the cave was very dark. Jiang Zhu as preparing to turn on the flashlight on his mobile phone with some heartache, when a fire was suddenly lit next to him.

Sheng Xiao held a lit torch and pulled Jiang Zhu vigorously with his hand.

A few torches lit up in the back, it was Uncle Jiao Jiang.

The face of Uncle Jiao Jiang that was lit up by the torch suddenly changed drastically, and his finger pointed behind Jiang Zhu: “It’s the shrine!”

The torches trembled and there was chaos.

So many torches illuminated the whole cave.

Is this where God dwells?

Jiang Zhu took a closer look, and he was stunned.

The cave is still quite wide. In front of them is a platform extending into the distance with a deep pit surrounding it, and at the end of the platform, is an elevated stone platform.

This familiar structure, except for its size, looks almost exactly the same as the cave that Jiang Zhu escaped with the undead in the Huang He cliff scenic spot.

Two different worlds with the same cave structure, is the place where the gods live?

It turns out that there is such a thing as a shrine in that world.

For some reason, Jiang Zhu was filled with doubt and uneasiness.

What is the truth of this world?

Or all the self-righteous people turn out to be the ignorant one instead.

The fire was very bright, allowing Jiang Zhu to see the cave very clearly.

The cave's stone walls have traces of chiseling, as well as ancient murals, which are definitely not naturally formed.

The murals here are different from the cave on the cliffs of Huang He.

Jiang Zhu took the torch in Sheng Xiao’s hands and lit it close to the stone wall.

In the flickering light of the fire, the ancient and dignified mural unfolded.

It depicted a very magnificent scene. There was a huge coffin on the ground, and a body of a long-haired undead woman crawled out of it.

There were ten huge suns in the sky, and it seemed to be desperately burning the body of the undead woman, and she howled in pain…

The picture is very spectacular, and a feeling of sadness straight from the heart seemed to infect the observers, a sadness that has never changed.

Jiang Zhu was shocked by this tragedy and shook his head and couldn’t help but bring the torch closer to the wall.

As he got a little closer, a “squeaky” roar came from inside the wall, as if… the wall is alive, and it felt the burn brought by the fire.

Jiang Zhu was so frightened that he took a step backward and almost bumped into the person behind him.

Tilting his head, it was him.

The black hood and robe made it impossible to see his face clearly and there seemed to be something blocking it from sight.

His eyes were also fixed on the murals on the walls.

Reaching out, he touched the howling female undead in the mural.

“She!”

One couldn’t hear any obvious mood, but Jiang Zhu always felt that there was definitely a change.

What a strange person. Only saying one word, and make people confuse on what he’s trying to express.

“There seems to be a flower there.” Sheng Xiao pulled Jiang Zhu’s sleeves and then reached for the inconspicuous little yellow flower.

But before he could touch it, a loud “bang” sounded and Sheng Xiao’s whole body was engulfed in flames without warning.

Jiang Zhu was shocked and vigorously threw Sheng Xiao to the ground, constantly rolling him around to extinguish the flame.

Sheng Xiao was so frightened that his little face turned white, and he held Jiang Zhu’s thigh in a deadly grip. He thought that it was just a small flower. If it wasn’t for Jiang Zhu, he would have burned to death.

The people in the back were also in a little bit of chaos: “There are witchcraft left by the Gods here!”

Jiang Zhu was just about to ask about the situation when he saw a hand plunge into the dirt where the small flower was located.

“Squeak!”

The walls of the hole cave roared. Angry, bloodthirsty, resentful!

Different sound echoed everywhere, and its unknown whether it was the screams of bugs or a low roar of monsters. It’s impossible to tell the difference at all, it all mixed together.

Terror rose from the bottom of the people’s heart and spread uncontrollably in every part of the body.

Jiang Zhu saw the hand pulling out of the wall and bringing out a lot of mud.

In his palm was a white jade-like stem, and this stem was connected to the small yellow flower, with its roots and whiskers still squirming, as if it was alive.

“A thousand year old jade.” Behind him came the voice of Uncle Jiao Jiang, but it was quickly drowned out by the terrifying cries of the walls.

Jiang Zhu swallowed hi saliva. What is the thing trembling behind the walls? It’s too frightening.

How come a God like to dwell in such a place? I’m afraid that no mortals could every understand.

The other people in the cave were pale and a little unsteady.

But apart from the roars and screams, nothing seems to happen.

If there are really gods living here, they should have already reacted after making such a big movement.

Uncle Jiao Jiang seemed to have calm down from panicking.

“The gods are fighting in the Great Wilderness. The gods here may have left already.”

“Look at the altar, it’s covered with dust.” Someone pointed to the dark elevated stone platform at the end.

Jiang Zhu couldn’t help but ask, “What is that?”

“The god lives in the shrine, and over there is the god’s collection, which is the treasure of the gods.”

God’s collection?

There was nothing on the alter, it was empty.

There are many mud pits on the walls of the cave. Maybe there were many plants like the small yellow flower here, but then they were also pulled out?

Are they grown naturally here? There are too many questions with no answers.

The cave seemed large, but you can also see everything with one look, but when they came out of the cave, Jiang Zhu actually had a feeling as if it was a world away.

In the end, Jiang Zhu didn’t know who made the frightening roars inside the walls. Except for the man named Hou in the bronze coffin, no one dared to touch the walls anymore. It was an instinctive fear, just like if life had a hierarchy, the lower life forms must submit to the higher life form, and that feeling came from the heart.

The old turtle stopped here and seemed just to be waiting for Hou to go in and take a look, and when Hou came out, it took a step.

Jiang Zhu absentmindedly sat on the back of the old turtle while shaking the small generator, he had to shake it most of the night to fully charge it.

“I’ll teach you a more fun game, can you give me a little more jerky?”

Instead of answering, something fell beside him, and when he looked down, it was the thousand years old jade. It really looked like a white jade, crystal clear, as if there was a white mist rising from within.

Jiang Zhu said in his heart, this seems to be a good thing, but its only the size of a fist and will not make people full.

“Is it okay to switch it to a jerky?”

Before he finished speaking, there was a “creaking” sound. It was the bronze coffin closing.

Jiang Zhu: “…”

It’s over, I’m going to starve tomorrow.

He put away the stem as white as jade. He was afraid it would escape with how badly its roots was squirming.

Then with a sigh, he continued to shake the generator.
